OBITUARIES
MRS. JOHN L. WETLE SR.


Maud Agnes (“Daisy”) Wetle, 88, wife of John L. Wetle Sr, died early Sunday morning at the family home at 530 Trenton Ave.

She had been a Bend resident since she and her husband came here 47 years ago from The Dalles to establish Wetle’s Department Store.

She had been a school teacher prior to her marriage Sept 2, 1912, in Oregon City. A graduate of Oregon College of Education (Monmouth). She was born Dec 21, 1882, at Crookston, Minn.

She was a member of the Delphinian Society, Neighbors of Woodcraft, St. Francis Catholic Church and the church alter society.

In addition to her husband, survivors include two sons and a daughter, all of Bend, John L. (Jack) Wetle, Jr., Robert J. Wetle and Mrs. Wayne (Helen) Faddis.

She leaves two sisters, Mrs. Eva Mayer and Mrs. Viola Paulson, both of Portland. There are grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Requium mass will be said Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. Francis Catholic Church, with the Rev. Aloysius McKenna as celebrant. Recisitation of the rosary will be Tuesday at 8 p.m. at the Tabor Funeral Home chapel.

Concluding services and vault interment will be at Deschutes Memorial Gardens.
