The Ohlegschlagers are not a blood line to me. However, Philip Adam Ohlegschlager adopted my father and was the only grandfather I knew from my father's family. To me the Ohlegschlagers were my aunts, uncles, and cousins. First I searched the Portland City Directories from before the turn of the century.
I found several listings that were a match or possibilities.

Even though the spelling is different I believe this is the immigrant Jacob Ohlegschlager.

note: Jacob and Eliz Ohlegschlager’s daughter Appolonia married Jacob Wetle in 1878. They removed to The Dalles about 1883 so these Wetles are possibly close relatives
